About Us
Chiang Mai Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. (CSE) was established on December 2, 2016, through a strong collaboration among local citizens, academics, and business leaders.
We operate strictly as a "Social Enterprise," where our primary focus is on serving society and creating a positive impact, rather than maximizing profits for shareholders. While our revenue is generated through our core business operations, 100% of our profits are reinvested directly into initiatives that expand and sustain benefits for the local community. We are a legally registered entity operating under a strict non-profit-sharing structure.
Our Project:
Zero Burn Village Initiative:
1st Initiative (2021): With 14 participating villages, we successfully rewarded all 14 communities and protected 28,000 rai of forest area.
2nd Initiative (2024): Expanding our reach to 52 participating villages. We provided rewards to 31 successful communities and protected 104,804 rai of forest area.
3rd Initiative (2025): Continuing our successful expansion, 152 villages achieved a strict zero-burn record. Due to budget constraints, we were able to reward 69 of these communities, successfully protecting a massive 338,466 rai of forest area.
Forest and Water Management:
1. The Mae Chaem Model: Restoring Forests through the Royal Philosophy Transforming barren hills into sustainable forests by applying the principle of "Three Types of Forests for Four Benefits."
2. Mae Kha Canal: Revitalizing a Historic Waterway Enhancing landscapes and treating wastewater to restore a clean and vibrant way of life for Chiang Mai's urban communities.
Economic Development:
1. The STEP UP Project: In collaboration with Erasmus+, this initiative is designed to empower and develop Social Enterprise (SE) entrepreneurs from Thailand and Myanmar.
2. The Wellness Initiative: Elevating the health and wellness sector in Northern Thailand.
3. "Take and Drop" Campaign: Delivering over 7,300 meals to support vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 crisis.
4. MOMCAR (Green City EV) Project: Driving sustainable pollution reduction while generating circulating income for Chiang Mai’s urban development.
Supporting Frontline Wildfire Volunteers:
Partnering with AEROTHAI and various other allies, we equip volunteer firefighters in critical areas with essential gear (leaf blowers, safety boots, and field backpacks) to strengthen their capabilities on the front lines.
